It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to act equitably and consistently in support of the County’s principles, strategies and vision. In a display of a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Human Resources profession, the Department will strive to be a vital resource by developing, implementing and supporting programs and processes that provide value to the Mahoning County Board of Commissioners, elected officials and all county employees.
What We Do
The Human Resources Department is responsible to coordinate and direct human resources activities for those departments under the Board of County Commissioners, as well as providing services to other Elected Officials’ departments upon request. These activities include:
Labor negotiations and contract administration
Recruitment, selection and other employment services
Employee benefits
Equal opportunity compliance
Formulate and provide technical advice regarding personnel policy and procedures
Revenue Source
The Human Resources Department is fully funded by the General Fund.
